Job Title: 1:1 SEN Child Support Worker (Year 3 – Speech & Language Focus)
Hours: Full time (Monday–Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm)
Location: Dursley, GL11
Contract: Fixed term - full academic year
Pay: £89 per day (depending on qualifications and experience)
About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive graduate or experienced SEN practitioner to provide 1:1 support for a Year 3 pupil with speech and language needs. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about communication development, SEN, or child psychology, and who wants to make a direct impact on a child’s progress.
You will work closely with the class teacher, SENCo, and our Speech and Language Therapist to implement tailored strategies that support learning, language, and social skills. This is a rewarding role where you can see the difference you make every day.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver 1:1 support to a Year 3 pupil with speech and language needs.
- Implement communication strategies and SALT programmes under professional guidance.
- Use visual aids, structured routines, and targeted interventions to support progress.
- Encourage the pupil’s confidence, social interaction, and independence in class.
- Collaborate with teachers, SENCo, and external specialists to track and celebrate achievements.
We Are Looking For:
- A graduate in psychology, education, speech & language therapy, or a related field
- Someone with equivalent experience in SEN settings
- Experience supporting children with speech and language needs or ASD/communication difficulties.
- A patient, nurturing, and proactive approach to helping children achieve their potential.
- Someone reflective, adaptable, passionate and enthusiastic about child development and SEN.
