SEND Teaching Assistant – ASC & Class Support Year 4 | Mainstream Primary School Pay: £94–£100 per day PAYE Start: ASAP Axcis Education is currently recruiting a dedicated and experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming mainstream primary school, supporting a Year 4 pupil with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) alongside providing wider classroom support and delivering whole-class interventions. This is a varied role suited to someone who enjoys working closely with individual pupils while also supporting the wider class. You will help create an inclusive learning environment, ensuring pupils receive the guidance and encouragement they need to access education, develop confidence and reach their potential. The Role You will work alongside the class teacher to provide tailored 1:1 support for a pupil with ASC, while also assisting with general classroom activities and delivering targeted interventions to small groups or the whole class. Responsibilities will include: • Providing individualised support to a Year 4 pupil with ASC. • Supporting sensory needs, communication and emotional regulation. • Delivering whole-class and targeted learning interventions. • Assisting pupils with their academic progress across the curriculum. • Encouraging positive behaviour, engagement and independence. • Supporting transitions and maintaining consistent classroom routines. • Working collaboratively with the class teacher and wider SEND team. The Ideal Candidate We are looking for someone who: • Has previous experience working with children with ASC or additional needs. • Is confident providing both 1:1 and classroom-based support. • Has experience delivering interventions or supporting small groups. • Is patient, adaptable and approachable. • Can build positive relationships with pupils and encourage engagement. • Has a good understanding of inclusive learning and SEND strategies. Previous experience within a primary school setting would be highly desirable.
