Teaching Assistant Location: Salisbury, Wiltshire Job Type: Full-Time, Monday to Friday Pay: £95–£100 per day PAYE SEMH Teaching Assistant – Salisbury Are you passionate about supporting children and young people and helping them overcome barriers to learning? Axcis Education is currently recruiting for a dedicated and resilient Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in Salisbury supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has experience working with children or young people and is looking to develop their career within a specialist education setting. Experience supporting pupils with SEN, autism, ADHD, behavioural needs, or trauma-related difficulties would be highly beneficial. As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will provide consistent, nurturing support to pupils, helping them feel safe, develop confidence, manage their emotions and engage positively with their education. The Role Your responsibilities will include: • Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils. • Supporting children and young people with SEMH, autism, ADHD and other additional needs. • Helping pupils access the curriculum and remain engaged with their learning. • Supporting positive behaviour and encouraging effective emotional regulation. • Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils. • Encouraging independence, communication, social skills and emotional development. • Working alongside teachers, therapists and other professionals to deliver personalised support. • Helping create a calm, safe and inclusive learning environment. • Supporting pupils to develop the confidence and skills they need to succeed both inside and outside the classroom. About You We are looking for someone who is: • Experienced in working with children or young people in an educational, care, youth work, residential or support setting. • Ideally experienced in supporting SEMH, SEND, autism, ADHD or behavioural needs. • Patient, calm and resilient when faced with challenging situations. • Compassionate and able to build positive relationships with vulnerable young people. • Confident communicating and working as part of a wider team. • Passionate about helping children and young people reach their potential. • Able to provide consistent, reliable and nurturing support.
