SEND Teaching Assistant – Autism & Speech and Language – Havering £100–£115 per day | Full-Time | Long-Term | Havering Axcis Education is recruiting an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to work within a primary school in Havering, supporting pupils with Autism, speech and language difficulties and additional communication needs. This role would suit someone who is confident supporting children who may need extra processing time, visual support, structured routines and targeted communication work. The school is looking for someone who can be patient and encouraging while helping pupils become more confident and independent in both their learning and communication. Candidates with a CACHE Level 2 or Level 3 qualification are particularly encouraged to apply, although this is not essential where there is strong practical SEND experience. About the Role Supporting pupils across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 Working with children with Autism, speech and language needs and communication difficulties Providing 1:1 and small-group support Helping pupils with reading, phonics, language development and classroom tasks Using visual resources, structured routines and communication strategies Supporting pupils who may need additional help with transitions, attention and emotional regulation Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider SEND team Encouraging pupils to communicate, participate and work as independently as possible About You We would particularly like to hear from candidates who: Have previous experience working as a SEND TA, LSA, Nursery Practitioner or similar support role Have experience supporting Autism or speech and language needs Hold a CACHE Level 2 or Level 3 qualification – desirable Are confident supporting pupils 1:1 and in small groups Can adapt communication to meet the needs of individual children Are patient, proactive and able to build positive relationships Can commit to a full-time, long-term role The School & Location The role is based in Havering, with opportunities across areas including Romford, Hornchurch, Rainham, Upminster and Harold Hill.
