The Role You will provide dedicated 1:1 support for a bright and engaging Year 5 pupil with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). Your role will focus on helping the pupil stay organised, manage daily routines and transitions, develop positive friendships, and build confidence both inside and outside the classroom. Using a calm, patient, and encouraging approach, you will provide consistent guidance to help the pupil meet classroom expectations while promoting independence and emotional wellbeing. Key Responsibilities Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a Year 5 pupil with ADHD and ASD. Help the pupil organise their timetable, belongings, and schoolwork. Support focus, attention, and smooth transitions throughout the school day. Encourage positive behaviour through gentle guidance and consistent routines. Promote positive friendships, communication, and social interaction. Support emotional regulation and the development of independence. Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and parents to ensure a consistent approach. Help create a positive, supportive, and inclusive learning environment. About You The ideal candidate will have: Experience supporting primary-aged pupils with ADHD and/or ASD. A patient, calm, and nurturing approach. Strong communication and relationship-building skills. Experience supporting organisation, attention, and social development. Confidence working independently while collaborating with school staff. A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs. An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (essential). Previous experience in a primary school or SEND support role (highly desirable).
