Job Title: Teaching Assistant
Secondary Teaching Assistant – Weymouth
Are you passionate about making a meaningful difference in a young person’s education? We are looking for a caring, dedicated, and enthusiastic 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive Secondary school in Weymouth.
This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with a pupil who requires additional support, helping them build confidence, develop independence, and achieve success both academically and socially within a nurturing school environment.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will:
• Provide tailored support for pupils with special educational needs, adapting learning approaches to meet their individual needs
• Support the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons across literacy, numeracy, and the wider curriculum
• Encourage independence, resilience, confidence, and positive social interaction
• Assist with classroom activities, small group sessions, and targeted interventions
• Support the pupils throughout the school day, including lessons, breaktimes, lunchtimes, and transitions around the school
• Work collaboratively with the SENCo, teaching staff, parents, and external professionals to help achieve the best possible outcomes
We are looking for someone who:
• Has a caring, patient, and nurturing approach
• Can build strong, positive relationships and help pupils feel supported, included, and encouraged
• Is flexible, proactive, and confident working both independently and as part of a wider team
• Brings energy, enthusiasm, and resilience into the classroom every day
• Has experience working with children and/or individuals with SEN

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm
Pay: £14.25 - £15.05 per hour
