Are you an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding full-time role within a mainstream primary school?
A fantastic and highly supportive primary school in Gloucester is seeking a confident, outgoing and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join their specialist provision from May 2026. This provision sits alongside the main school and supports a small cohort of pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, communication difficulties and additional learning needs.
This is a brilliant opportunity to work in a structured, nurturing environment with small pupil numbers, where you can build strong relationships and make a genuine, lasting impact every day.
About the Role
As a SEND Teaching Assistant within the specialist provision, you will:
• Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support to pupils with ASC and SEMH
• Support emotional regulation, behaviour strategies and social development
• Help implement structured routines and personalised learning approaches
• Work closely with the provision lead and wider SEND team
• Create a calm, consistent and safe learning environment
• Encourage engagement, independence and confidence
The Ideal Candidate
• Has previous SEND or Teaching Assistant experience (essential)
• Has a strong understanding of ASC and SEMH needs
• Is resilient, proactive and able to build positive relationships
• Brings energy, patience and a calm, consistent approach
• Is a strong team player who thrives in a collaborative environment
