Are you passionate about helping children feel safe, understood, and ready to learn?
We are working with a well-regarded mainstream primary school in Weymouth that is looking to appoint a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join their brand-new SEND hub. The school supports pupils with SEN and complex needs, following the Norfolk Model to provide structured, nurturing, and individualised support.
This is a rewarding opportunity to play a vital role in helping pupils feel secure, build trusting relationships, and develop the confidence they need to succeed — both academically and emotionally — within a supportive and inclusive environment.

• Using sensitive behaviour management and de-escalation techniques to support regulation and learning
• Encouraging positive relationships, social interaction, and participation in school life
• Monitoring progress and celebrating achievements, recognising every step forward
• Supporting the preparation of personalised learning resources
We are looking for someone who:
• Has experience working with children in education or SEND settings
• Is patient, empathetic, and resilient, with a genuine commitment to supporting children’s wellbeing
• Communicates confidently and builds strong, trusting relationships
• Works well independently while contributing positively to a team
• Holds a Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent) — desirable but not essential
Why apply?

• Make a meaningful, lasting difference in children’s lives
• Develop your skills in trauma-informed and attachment-aware practice
• Be part of a committed team where your contribution is recognised and valued
