Learning Support Assistant (Autism Specialist) Location: Hillingdon, West London (Near West Drayton Station) Contract: Full-Time, Temporary (Immediate Start – July 2026) Setting: Secondary Education Rate: £100.00 per day (PAYE) Hours: 08:30 – 16:00, Monday to Friday The Role A secondary school in Hillingdon is seeking a dedicated and experienced Learning Support Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a student with autism who has recently joined the school. This role is essential in ensuring the student’s successful integration into a secondary environment, assisting with academic engagement, and managing social and sensory transitions throughout the school day. Key Responsibilities 1:1 Support: Deliver tailored support to a secondary-age student with autism, facilitating both academic progress and social development. Curriculum Access: Work closely with subject teachers to modify materials, ensuring the curriculum is accessible and engaging. Behavioural Support: Use proven strategies to manage sensory needs and promote emotional regulation within a busy secondary setting. Collaboration: Maintain consistent communication with the SENCo and teaching staff to track the student’s integration and progress. Candidate Requirements Experience: Essential experience supporting secondary-aged pupils with Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC). Skill Set: A proactive, patient, and adaptable approach to 1:1 intervention. Availability: Must be available for an immediate start and able to commit to the role until July.
