Graduate Teaching Assistant Drama / Psychology Graduates – Primary & Secondary Schools Camden & North West London Full-time role: Monday to Friday, term time only Daily pay: £90–£100, dependent on experience Flexible start date We are a specialist education recruitment agency working in partnership with a wide range of mainstream and SEND schools across Camden and North West London. We are currently recruiting graduate teaching assistants to work on a full-time, long-term basis within both primary schools and secondary schools. This role is ideal for a graduate teaching assistant with a background or strong interest in Drama or Psychology, who is looking to gain valuable, hands-on experience in education before progressing into teacher training, educational psychology, therapy, or SEND-related careers. The Role – Graduate Teaching Assistant As a graduate teaching assistant, you will be placed in a school setting that best matches your experience, interests, and long-term goals. Placements are available in: • Primary schools • Secondary schools (subject-specific roles for Drama or Psychology graduates) • Mainstream schools • SEND schools and special provisions Your responsibilities as a teaching assistant may include: • Supporting pupils in the classroom on a 1:1 or small group basis • Assisting pupils with SEND, including autism, ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties • Working alongside class teachers, SENCOs, and therapists • Supporting behaviour, emotional regulation, and engagement with learning • Using creative approaches (particularly for Drama or Psychology graduates) to support learning and wellbeing • Helping pupils access the curriculum in both mainstream and SEND environments About You We are keen to hear from any graduate who: • Holds a degree (Drama, Psychology, Education, or a related subject preferred) • Has experience working with children (school-based, nannying, tutoring, youth work, care work, or personal/family experience) • Has an interest in or some exposure to SEND (formal or informal) • Is enthusiastic about working as a teaching assistant • Is willing to learn, develop professionally, and complete SEND-focused CPD • Is reliable, patient, and committed to working full-time in a school While prior SEND experience is desirable, it is not essential. What is essential is a genuine interest in SEND, a willingness to learn, and a commitment to professional development.
