Job Title: Teaching Assistant
Teaching Assistant – Secondary SEND Support
Location: Brent
Mainstream Secondary School
We are a specialist education recruitment agency working with a welcoming mainstream secondary school in Brent, and we are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) on a full-time basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Teaching Assistant who is passionate about inclusive education and supporting young people with additional needs within a mainstream secondary setting.
The Role – Teaching Assistant
As a Teaching Assistant, you will:
• Support students with SEND in a mainstream secondary school environment
• Work on a 1:1 basis or in small groups with pupils who have additional learning needs
• Assist students in accessing the secondary curriculum, including adapting tasks where required
• Support behaviour, emotional regulation, and engagement in learning
• Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams to implement support strategies
• Help monitor progress and contribute to reviews for pupils with EHCPs
This is a Monday to Friday role, term time only, offering consistency and routine within a supportive school environment.
About You
We are looking for a Teaching Assistant who:
• Has experience supporting children or young people with SEND (school-based or transferable experience)
• Is confident working in a secondary school setting
• Has a patient, resilient, and proactive approach
• Is committed to supporting inclusion within mainstream education
• Is reliable and able to work full-time during term time
Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant in a secondary school is desirable, but not essential for the right candidate.
