Job Title: Teaching Assistant
SEND Teaching Assistant – Autism & Communication – Primary – Tower Hamlets
From £89/day | Primary | Tower Hamlets | Full-Time | Long-Term
Axcis are working with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Tower Hamlets who are seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils with autism and communication needs. The school has a strong SEN provision, a proactive SENCO and a collaborative staff team who value consistency and relationship-based support.
The school is easily accessible via public transport, including Tube, DLR and bus routes.
In this role, you will be:
• Supporting pupils with autism on a 1:1 and small-group basis.
• Using visual timetables, routines and structured strategies to support communication and engagement.
• Encouraging emotional regulation, independence and positive social interaction.
• Supporting learning across core subjects within the classroom.
• Working closely with teachers and the SENCO to support EHCP targets.
What we’re looking for:
• Experience supporting pupils with autism or SEND.
• Calm, patient and nurturing approach.
• Confidence using visuals, PECS or Makaton (desirable).
• Commitment to full-time, long-term work.
