Job Title: Teaching Assistant
SEND Teaching Assistant – Autism & Communication – Special School – Havering
From £95/day | Special School | Havering | Full-Time | Long-Term
Axcis are recruiting for a SEND Teaching Assistant to join a special school in Havering supporting pupils with autism, communication needs and sensory processing differences. The school provides a calm, structured learning environment with excellent therapy input and strong staff collaboration.
In this role, you will be:
• Supporting pupils with autism, including some non-verbal learners.
• Using visuals, PECS, Makaton or structured routines to support communication.
• Assisting with personalised learning activities and sensory regulation.
• Supporting daily routines and transitions throughout the school day.
• Working closely with teachers, therapists and support staff.

• Experience working with autism or complex SEND.
• Patient, nurturing and consistent approach.
• Confidence supporting sensory and communication needs.
• Willingness to commit long-term.
