Teaching Assistant
Location: Lyme Regis, Dorset
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday
Pay: £89 – £95 per day
Are you a caring, motivated individual looking to make a real impact in the classroom?
We are seeking an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming mainstream primary school in Lyme Regis. This is a fantastic opportunity to support both the wider class and a pupil with Autism Spectrum Condition on a one-to-one basis, helping them thrive academically and socially.
Your role will be key in creating an inclusive and positive learning environment where every child feels supported and encouraged to reach their potential.

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide 1:1 support for a pupil with ASC, promoting engagement, confidence, and independence.
• Support small-group learning, delivering booster sessions in maths and literacy to enhance progress
• Help pupils develop social skills and self-regulation through positive, structured interaction
• Prepare and adapt learning resources to suit individual needs and learning styles
• Work closely with the class teacher and SENCo to implement and review Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
• Track and report on pupil progress, celebrating achievements and identifying next steps
• Contribute to a calm, inclusive classroom atmosphere by supporting positive behaviour management strategies
• Take part in ongoing training and professional development to strengthen your skills and confidence
• Always uphold the school’s values, policies, and safeguarding commitments

About You:
• Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant (or similar role) in a school environment
• Understanding and experience of supporting pupils with ASC or additional needs
• Confident literacy and numeracy skills, with the ability to deliver targeted interventions
• Relevant qualification such as NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent), or strong practical experience
• Patient, empathetic, and resilient, with a genuine desire to help children learn and grow
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a flexible and proactive approach
