Job Title: Teaching Assistant
Axcis education are Axcis education is a leading special education needs SEND agency working across the country to provide both short- and long-term roles in a variety of educational settings.
We are currently working with a secondary school in the Wirral who are seeking a teaching assistant to join their team. This school is based in a great location with access to public transport.
This role will suit someone who has experience working with key stage 3-5. Preferably someone who has specific experience working with SEND needs Including Social, emotional & mental health difficulties, autism, ADHD and learning difficulties.
Key duties:
• 121 supports for pupils with SEND needs - including social, emotional & mental health difficulties, Autism, ADHD and learning difficulties
• Manage incidents of challenging behaviour safely and professionally, Following school safeguarding procedures
• Work closely with teachers, parents/carers, and external professionals to ensure consistent support for pupils.
• Encourage emotional regulation and resilience, modelling calm, respectful, and empathetic communication.
• Help to create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment where all pupils feel valued and supported.
What we need from you:
• At least 6 months personal or professional experience supporting adults or children with special educational needs.
OR
A certified qualification in a relevant area- education, psychology, drama etc
• A graduate teaching assistant with a patient, compassionate and positive attitude.
• Flexibility to work in school hours- contracts are usually 8:30am until 3-4:30pm Depending on the schools’ requirements
Ability to reliably commute to settings either by driving or public transport
