Job Title: 1:1 SEMH Teaching Assistant Location: Seaton Pay Rate: £95 per day Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm Contract Type: Full-time, term-time only We are seeking a 1:1 SEMH Teaching Assistant to support a primary-aged pupil with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs at a welcoming school in Seaton. This role involves working closely with the child to help them manage their emotions, regulate their behaviour, and engage with learning in a positive and supportive way. You will work alongside the class teacher, SENCo, and other professionals to implement strategies that promote emotional well-being, independence, and academic progress. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), either professionally or personally. A calm, patient, and empathetic approach is essential, along with strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships. Responsibilities: Provide tailored 1:1 support for a pupil with SEMH needs Assist with emotional regulation and behaviour management Support access to learning through individualised strategies Work collaboratively with school staff and external agencies Requirements: Experience with SEND (professional or personal) Enhanced DBS check (on the Update Service or willingness to apply) Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in a child’s life.
