Axcis are recruiting compassionate and resilient Teaching Assistants to support pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs across a number of schools in Manchester. Starting in September 2025, this role offers a meaningful opportunity to work closely with young people who need additional emotional and behavioural support to succeed in the classroom.

What the role involves:
Supporting pupils with SEMH needs, either one-to-one or in small groups
Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional regulation through consistent support
Working alongside the class teacher to deliver lessons that meet individual needs
Assisting with behaviour management strategies and de-escalation techniques
Creating a calm, structured, and supportive learning environment
What we’re looking for:
Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs (education, care, or support work)
A calm, nurturing approach and the ability to build trust and rapport
Flexibility to work across different year groups or schools as needed
A basic understanding of behaviour management and trauma-informed approaches
Passion for supporting pupils’ emotional, social, and academic development
