Job Title: Teaching Assistant Contract: Full-time (Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM) Salary: £90 - £95 per day (PAYE) Axcis Education is currently recruiting for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant and dynamic all-through SEND school, catering to the educational needs of young people aged 2-19. Our client school proudly supports over 200 pupils with a diverse range of learning needs, including moderate to severe learning needs, complex and multiple learning needs, as well as Autism. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include but are not limited to: - Assisting in the preparation and delivery of lessons tailored to individual and group needs. - Providing one-to-one support to students, understanding their unique challenges and helping them to overcome barriers to learning. - Facilitating a safe and nurturing setting for children to develop social, academic, and personal skills. - Collaborating with the teaching staff, therapists, and other professionals to implement educational plans. - Encouraging students to engage actively in the learning process and to participate in classroom activities. - Managing the behavior of pupils while fostering a positive, constructive atmosphere. - Assisting with the management of classroom resources and maintaining a tidy and well-organized learning space. - Observing students’ progress and providing feedback to teachers and parents when appropriate. - Committing to the safeguarding and welfare of all pupils. To be successful in this role, you should be empathetic, patient, and passionate about supporting children with special educational needs. Relevant experience in a similar setting is preferred but not essential as training will be provided.
