A welcoming and forward-thinking high school in the L36 area is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team this September. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a lasting impact by helping students with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs and challenging behaviours thrive in a structured and nurturing environment.
About the Role:
As a Teaching Assistant, you will support students on a one-to-one and small group basis. Key responsibilities include:
Supporting students with emotional regulation and social development
Encouraging positive behaviour using well-established strategies
Assisting in the delivery of tailored learning plans (IEPs)
Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to ensure consistent, individualised support
Who We’re Looking For:
Experience supporting students with SEMH, autism, or behavioural needs
A calm, patient, and resilient approach to managing behaviour
Strong communication and teamwork skills
A genuine passion for helping young people reach their full potential
A DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one with our guidance)
