Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant – Primary School SRP (West Drayton) Start Date: September Contract: 0830am-03:30pm Full-Time | Long-Term | Potential to Become Permanent Axcis is working in partnership with a friendly and well-supported Primary School near West Drayton station to recruit a resilient, enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistant for their Special Resourced Provision (SRP). This full-time role is available for an immediate starting September, with the potential to become a permanent position for the right candidate. The role involves dealing with children who present challenging behaviour. About the Role: The school’s SRP supports a small group of 10 pupils from Year 1 to Year 5, with a primary focus on SEMH, autism, and challenging behaviour. The ideal candidate will be confident, calm, and able to manage dysregulated behaviour with professionalism, compassion, and consistency. Some incidents may involve swearing or emotional outbursts, so a strong but nurturing approach is essential. Key Responsibilities: -Provide targeted support for pupils with SEMH and ASD -Support behaviour management using de-escalation and positive reinforcement strategies -Work collaboratively with the class teacher and wider SEND team -Help create a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment Requirements: -Minimum CACHE Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification -Experience supporting children with ASD, SEMH, or behavioural challenges -Confident and proactive approach to managing behaviour -Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one) -Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset Very desirable to be Team-Teacher trained.
