Our facility is dedicated to providing tailored support to pupils who present challenging behaviors, with a strong emphasis on personal development and academic progress. #### *Key Responsibilities:* - Work closely with a lead teacher to deliver personalized educational plans with a focus on social, emotional, and academic growth. - Maintain a 2:1 staff-to-pupil ratio, delivering bespoke attention to students with SEMH needs. - Employ a variety of strategies to engage students with challenging behavior and ensure a safe, respectful, and nurturing classroom environment. - Assist with planning, preparing, and delivering structured learning activities. - Support pupils with their work in small groups or on a one-to-one basis. - Facilitate the development of pupils' social skills by encouraging positive interactions and implementing behavior management protocols. - Work collaboratively with other staff members to evaluate and adapt individual learning plans in line with students' needs. - Actively participate in team meetings and professional development sessions. - Communicate effectively with teachers, other support staff, and external agencies as required. - Help teachers manage class behaviors and implement the school's behavior policy. - Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents/carers as appropriate. - Contribute to the creation of a stable, supportive learning environment that fosters a sense of safety and belonging. #### *Requirements:* - Relevant experience working as a Teaching Assistant or similar role, preferably within an SEMH setting. - Strong understanding of the strategies needed to manage challenging behavior and support children with special educational needs. - Minimum qualification of NVQ Level 2 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent is preferred. - Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to build rapport with students, staff, and parents/carers. - Ability to work under pressure and adapt quickly to changing situations. - A patient, caring, and empathetic approach with resilience to handle the demands of the role. - Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one). - Commitment to the school’s policies on safeguarding, inclusivity, and equality. #### *Benefits:* - Competitive salary. - A supportive and collaborative staff team. - Opportunities for professional development and career progression. - The potential for a permanent position upon successful completion of the temporary contract.
