Pay: £89 a day
Hours: 8:00am- 4:30pm
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate PMLD Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team in London, SW18. The successful candidate will work closely with pupils who have Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), ensuring they receive the highest standard of education and care.
Responsibilities:
• Assist in the preparation and delivery of individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with severe learning difficulties and complex health needs.
• Provide one-to-one support and facilitate inclusive classroom participation.
• Create a safe and stimulating learning environment tailored to the needs of PMLD students.
• Support the physical needs of students, including assistance with hygiene, feeding, and mobility.
• Employ specialist communication techniques to enhance student engagement and understanding.
• Work with teachers, parents, and multi-disciplinary teams to monitor and report on student progress.
• Contribute to the development of bespoke teaching materials and resources.
• Attend and participate in staff meetings and professional development sessions.
Requirements:
• Experience working with students who have severe learning difficulties.
• Basic understanding of PMLD and associated complex health needs.
• Able to implement behaviour management strategies effectively.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proficient in adapting to students' various communication methods.
• Willingness to partake in relevant training.
• Enhanced DBS check will be required.
