**Salary: Level 2 Teaching Assistant, £13.69 per hour**
We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our educational team in Bury, Greater Manchester. The successful candidate will support students with Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and challenging behaviour, helping them to achieve their full potential in an inclusive learning environment.
### Key Responsibilities:
- Implement individual education plans (IEPs) for students with ASC, ADHD, and challenging behaviour under the guidance of the lead teacher.
- Provide one-to-one support to students with special educational needs, adapting teaching methods to meet individual learning styles.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and therapy professionals to ensure a consistent and supportive approach to each student's education and well-being.
- Assist in the development of social skills and positive behaviour through interactive activities and engagements.
- Facilitate a safe and supportive classroom environment, intervening and managing challenging behaviour in line with school policies.
- Support students with their learning activities in the classroom, including preparation and clean-up of materials and resources.
- Monitor and record students' progress, providing feedback to teachers and contributing to the assessment process.
- Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities relevant to the role and the needs of the students.
- Help maintain a clean, orderly, and structured environment conducive to learning and growth.
- Accompany and supervise students during school outings, recreational activities, and transitions between classes.
### Essential Requirements:
- Prior experience in a teaching assistant role or working with children with ASC, ADHD, and challenging behaviour.
- Qualifications at NVQ level 2 or 3 for Teaching Assistant or equivalent is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with children, staff, and parents.
- An understanding of safeguarding children and a commitment to their safety and wellbeing.
- The ability to remain calm and patient in challenging situations.
- A proactive and collaborative approach, capable of working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
