Position: Teaching Assistant Company: Axcis Education Location: Salisbury Contract: Full-time Pay: £90 PAYE Axcis Education is working alongside a SEMH Specialist School in Salisbury to find an energetic and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant. This full-time role involves supporting a diverse group of learners aged 9 to 16 with complex communication, cognition, and learning needs. The school provides a broad and balanced curriculum with a nurture-based approach. Main Responsibilities: Work with students in small groups or on a 1:1 basis to deliver pre-planned learning and behaviour activities as directed by the teacher. Assist teachers in implementing behaviour management, teaching, and learning strategies. Adapt your approach to meet the varying needs of students with learning and emotional difficulties. Record and update student interventions to track academic progress, attendance, engagement, and behaviour. Build and maintain positive working relationships with students, parents, and the wider staff team. Requirements: Experience supporting students with Autism and SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs. Knowledge of the National Curriculum and interventions such as reading and phonics. Experience using de-escalation techniques to support students in crisis; up-to-date. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
