Job Role: SEND Primary Teaching Assistant Location: Wandsworth, London Pay: Paid to scale Hours: 8:00am- 4:30pm, Full Time We are currently seeking an exceptional SEND Primary Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant staff team in the heart of Wandsworth, London. This opportunity is ideal for a dedicated professional who has experience in supporting students with special educational needs, particularly those with Down Syndrome, ADHD, and speech and language challenges. Key Requirements: • Passion for supporting children with SEND to access the primary curriculum. • Proven experience in providing targeted support to individuals with Down Syndrome and ADHD. • Strong knowledge of strategies to aid children's speech and language development. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with teachers, parents, and external agencies. • Skilled in creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment. • Ability to adapt to each child’s educational needs and work effectively under the guidance of the SENCO. • Commitment to ongoing professional development in SEND practices. Responsibilities: • Assist in the delivery of personalised educational support to primary students with SEND. • Help implement individual education plans (IEPs) in line with pupil needs. • Foster positive behaviours and encourage pupil engagement through innovative strategies. • Monitor and track pupil progress, providing feedback to the teaching staff. • Contribute to a safe, nurturing learning setting that respects pupil diversity.
