This full-time role is based within the school’s specialist SEN unit, working with Key Stage 1 and 2 pupils who have ASD, ADHD, complex needs, and in some cases challenging behaviours. Support is usually provided on either a 1:1 basis with a pupil or as part of a 2:1 arrangement, ensuring each child receives the focused care and attention they require. The role includes supporting pupils with personal care where necessary, and applicants must be comfortable assisting with this aspect of the position. Once a week, on Thursdays, Teaching Assistants are also expected to support children during their swimming lesson, which may involve standing in waist-deep water to safeguard and supervise the child – though this will not be required for every pupil, applicants must be prepared to assist if needed. The school prides itself on its large and supportive SEN team, offering a collaborative environment where staff work together to create a safe, structured, and nurturing setting for all pupils. This position starts ASAP for the right candidates and requires availability Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 4:00pm.
