Looking for your next step in your SEND career? Axcis have a vacancy for a teaching assistant at a well respected specialist school in the Somerton working with children with complex needs. Rated 'Outstanding' by Ofsted, this fantastic specialist school has beautiful grounds and the children do activities like gardening, horse riding and swimming. The school is small but well resourced and has a fantastic atmosphere upon entering the grounds. The school uses alternative teaching techniques is renowned as a centre of excellence. The school are looking for someone who is calm, patient and able to use their initiative. The role is five days a week, and full time. The position is general in-class support - you will need to use hoists and support children with personal care. Experience of working with children with complex needs is essential and many of them are non verbal. The ability to use Makaton would be highly advantageous. If you are a caring, friendly and patient individual then this could be the perfect role for you.
