Job Title: Teaching Assistant - Level 3 Location: Heywood, Lancashire Salary: £95 - £100 per day (PAYE) Job Type: Full Time, Temporary Hours: 8:30 am - 3:30 pm --- **About Us:** We are a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Heywood, Lancashire, currently seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join our Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) team. We pride ourselves on creating a supportive and stimulating environment where children with varying needs can thrive and reach their full potential. **Job Overview:** As a Teaching Assistant at our school, you will play a fundamental role in supporting the development of young children, particularly those with additional needs. You will be responsible for leading phonics sessions and running speech and language interventions, as well as assisting with daily classroom activities. Your commitment to fostering a nurturing and effective learning environment will be key to our pupils' educational journeys. **Key Responsibilities:** - Support the creation and maintenance of a safe, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment. - Work collaboratively with the class teacher to deliver educational activities and facilitate learning. - Lead phonics sessions and implement literacy strategies to aid reading and writing skills. - Run targeted speech and language interventions, adapting to individual student needs. - Assist children with additional needs, offering specialized support to encourage their progress. - Utilize a variety of teaching resources and techniques to engage and motivate young learners. - Observe and assess children’s performance, providing feedback to teachers and parents as required. - Help manage pupil behavior in the classroom and on school premises. - Participate in school meetings and professional development sessions. - Ensure all activities comply with school policies and health and safety guidelines. **Essential Criteria:** - Must have relevant Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent. - Proven classroom-based experience, especially within an EYFS setting. - Experience of working with children with additional needs. - Competent in leading phonics sessions and delivering speech and language interventions. - Holds a current Enhanced DBS on the update service. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Able to work full time from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm. **Desirable Attributes:** - A creative thinker with the ability to engage young learners. - A patient and caring individual committed to the academic and social development of children. - Someone who is proactive, flexible, and can work independently as well as part of a team. - Eagerness to take on new challenges and a commitment to continuous professional development. **How to Apply:** Interested candidates who meet the above criteria should submit their CV highlighting their suitability for the role.
