Job Title: Teaching Assistant – SEND School (Autism Specialist) Location: Newton-Le-Willows (WA12) Start Date: Immediate Starts Available Contract Type: Full-Time Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 4:30pm Are you passionate about supporting children with autism and making a genuine difference in their day-to-day school life? We are currently recruiting for a specialist SEND school in Newton-Le-Willows, supporting children aged 5 to 16 with a primary diagnosis of autism and a range of co-existing needs. This is a well-established, non-maintained special school that focuses on personalised learning, high levels of support, and helping pupils develop the key life skills they need to succeed both in school and beyond. About the School: The school provides a highly supportive environment for pupils with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and additional needs such as communication difficulties, social and emotional challenges, and varying learning abilities. Each student follows an individualised learning pathway, built around their EHCP outcomes, with a strong emphasis on: Communication and interaction Emotional regulation and behaviour support Independence and life skills Social development Class sizes are small, with a high staff-to-student ratio, allowing for tailored support and meaningful progress. The curriculum is adapted from the National Curriculum and designed to support not just academic achievement, but also personal development, wellbeing, and preparation for adulthood.
