We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and well-supported secondary school in the L30 area from April 2026. With excellent bus and train links, the school is easily accessible and offers a positive, inclusive environment where both staff and students thrive.

The Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:
• Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
• Adapt learning materials to help students access the secondary curriculum
• Support literacy, numeracy, and essential life skills development
• Promote independence, confidence, and positive peer relationships
• Assist teachers in creating an inclusive, structured, and engaging learning environment
• Monitor and track student progress, contributing to reviews and EHCP outcomes
• Support students’ emotional wellbeing and ensure safeguarding procedures are upheld at all times
• You will play a key role in helping students build resilience, develop self-belief, and experience success both academically and personally.

• Experience supporting young people with SEND, ideally within a secondary setting
• A calm, patient, and adaptable approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Confidence supporting literacy, numeracy, and classroom engagement
• A solid understanding of safeguarding and student welfare
• The ability to build positive relationships with staff, parents, and external professionals
• Most importantly, you’ll have a genuine passion for making a lasting difference in young people’s lives.
