Job Title: Sports Coach- Sessional
We are looking for new SEND Sports Coaches to support children and young people with severe and complex needs to take part in inclusive sports and activity sessions. You will work 1:1 with SEN participants, under the direction of a lead instructor. In order to help children and young people access and enjoy a range of activities while building confidence, communication, and independence. This is a rewarding opportunity to use your coaching skills in a meaningful, inclusive environment. Working Hours • Saturdays: 09:15 – 13:15 • School Holidays: o Tuesday: 08:30 – 15:30 o Wednesday: 09:00 – 15:30 Location: Stockport Area Pay: £13.80 per hour Key Responsibilities • Support one young person throughout each session, encouraging participation in sports and activities. • Adapt activities to meet individual needs and remove barriers to inclusion. • Use simple communication strategies (e.g., visual supports) to engage participants. • Remove any barrier that stops a young person engaging. • Assist with activities such as swimming and group games. • Work as part of a team to deliver safe, fun, and inclusive sessions. • Follow individual support plans and health needs. What We’re Looking For • A passion for sports, coaching, and inclusion. • Experience working with children or young people (professional or personal) is helpful but not essential. • A positive attitude, patience, and willingness to learn. • Ability to work well in a team and stay calm in a busy environment. • Good communication skills. • Ability to meet the physical demands of the role (e.g., supporting mobility, using equipment).
