Axcis are an education agency specialising in SEND (special educational needs and disabilities). Axcis Education seeks to appoint sports coaches for teaching assistant work within mainstream and SEND schools as well as PRU's and alternative provisions. We work with a variety of special needs and mainstream schools in Gloucester and surrounding areas who have requirements for part and full-time support staff to work with students with additional needs. Whilst you wouldn't be solely teaching sport you will be using your coaching skills to build rapport and good relationships with these students as well as partaking in sports to engage and support the pupils. The roles we can offer will be suitable for you if you; - Have a sports background in training and/or coaching - Have a confident and friendly personality - Can remain calm under stressful situations - You are used to managing large groups of children and have great classroom management skills - Have experience of working with young people - Have experience of teaching sports to young people with special needs - Want to work regular school hours 0830-1530 Pay rates depend on your previous experience but in general vary from £95-105 per day. Even though the role is on a supply basis, there is the opportunity to be flexible with your time and work up to five days a week. Some of the children we support have needs such as autism, downs syndrome, ADHD, behavioural issues and physical disabilities. We pay every week on a Friday, a week in arrears.
