SEND Teaching Assistant – SLD & SLCN – Nuneaton – Mainstream Primary Support Location: Nuneaton Contract Type: Full-time Salary: £89 – £105 per day / £445 – £525 per week Axcis Education is working with a vibrant mainstream school in Nuneaton to recruit an empathetic and proactive SEND Teaching Assistant to support children with severe learning difficulties (SLD) and speech, language and communication needs (SLCN). This role is ideal for someone who can use creativity and care to help students overcome communication barriers and access learning in a meaningful way. The Role: You will: • Support pupils 1:1 or in small groups who require significant support with communication and learning. • Use Makaton, PECS, or similar tools to encourage expressive and receptive language. • Assist with personal care if needed and implement tailored support strategies. • Create a calm and engaging environment that supports individual targets. • Work as part of a supportive SEND team under the direction of the SENCO. About You: • Experience with SLD and SLCN is highly desirable. • Understanding of language development and non-verbal communication strategies. • Calm, nurturing and proactive. • Experience in schools, care settings or specialist environments. • Relevant training or qualifications are a bonus.
