Your Role and Responsibilities:
As a Special Education Teacher, you'll be instrumental in shaping the academic journey of students with special educational needs. Your main tasks will include:
• Personalised Teaching: Develop tailored lesson plans that address the individual needs of primary or secondary students.
• Positive Learning Environment: Create a welcoming and inclusive classroom where students feel supported in their academic, social and emotional development.
• Collaboration: Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists and families to deliver a comprehensive support network for students.
• Ongoing Assessment: Track student progress, provide detailed feedback and adjust teaching strategies as necessary.
• Parental Engagement: Build strong relationships with families, keeping them updated on student progress and attending parent-teacher meetings.
What We're Looking For:
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): This is a requirement.
• Experience: Proven experience in special education is essential.
• Skills and Attributes: You should be empathetic, creative and patient with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Flexibility and adaptability to student needs are key.
• Commitment: Willingness to work a minimum of three days per week.
