SEND Teaching assistant Social, Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties. We have an SEND teaching assistant job for a experienced teaching assistant with experience of working with Social, Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties pupils. Are you an experienced support worker? Do you have experience supporting young people with SMEH and school based SEND experience? Axcis Education is recruiting for SMEH support workers with school based SEND. About the position: You will be working with a particular year group supporting in a wide range of lessons and enrichment activities. You will be helping in a range of duty's and some off site tutoring so driving would be distinct advantage. Also someone that was willing to be MIDAS trained to drive a minibus would also be a great advantage. Resilience is an essential trait as the children have challenging behaviour; you must have a calm nature and ability to de-escalate situations. The successful candidate will be creative, flexible and have a natural talent for working with students who exhibit challenging behaviour. This role would be through to May half term in the first instance but for the right person there is a strong likelihood that the position could be extended or swapped to a permeant contract About the school: The school is a secondary special school for students with social, emotional and mental health needs. A majority of the students thrive via a varied curriculum that is practical based and introduces students to and enhances their experiences via an enrichment programme. Many of the students arrive at the school having had very difficult experiences of school in the past. With the skill and dedication of the staff, they aim to reconnect them with education so they can make progress to becoming successful adults via a reflective approach. Reflection and restorative practice, as opposed to detentions and exclusions, is used to help students understand what is currently happening, what they are trying and using well, and how they can move forward. The school is determined that students will leave with academic outcomes that reflects the best of their abilities, able to sustain relationships and employment and maintain healthy households.
