SEN Teaching Assistant – 1:1 Support
Location: Weymouth, Dorset
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Full-Time
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm
Pay: £94 – £100 per day

A welcoming mainstream secondary school in Weymouth is looking for a caring and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support to a pupil. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about SEND and wants to help a young person develop their confidence, independence and engagement in school.
The Role
As a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the pupil, providing tailored support both inside and outside of the classroom. You will build a positive and trusting relationship while helping them access learning and feel confident within the school environment.
Key responsibilities include:
• Providing dedicated 1:1 support to help a pupil access the curriculum
• Supporting learning through adapted activities and resources
• Encouraging engagement, confidence and independence
• Supporting with personal care where required, always maintaining dignity and respect
• Working alongside teachers and the SEN team to deliver effective support strategies
• Helping manage and respond to individual needs and behaviours
• Monitoring progress and providing feedback to the wider school team
• Creating a positive, safe and supportive learning environment
About You

• Passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs
• Experienced in education, care, support work or a similar setting (desirable, but not essential)
