Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant
Olveston, South Gloucestershire
£14.25 per hour
Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 3:30pm
Immediate start | Permanent after an initial 16-week settling-in period

Axcis Education is looking for a caring, patient and motivated SEND Teaching Assistant to support students aged 5 to 16 with PMLD, autism and physical disabilities at a specialist setting in Olveston.
This role could be ideal for someone with experience as a:
• Youth Worker
• Sports Coach
• Support Worker
• Care Worker
• Activity Leader
• Teaching Assistant
However, previous SEND experience is not the most important thing. We are looking for the right personality, values and motivation. If you are patient, compassionate, resilient and genuinely want to help vulnerable young people learn, develop and enjoy school, we would love to hear from you.
About the setting
This is a unique specialist learning environment designed around the individual needs of its pupils. The provision includes specialist facilities such as a hydrotherapy pool, sensory rooms and sensory diet areas, alongside a holistic curriculum supporting students' education, development and wellbeing.
Students also benefit from working alongside therapists and other professionals, creating a genuinely collaborative approach to learning and support.
As a new setting, it has not yet received an Ofsted inspection. Its development and quality are being monitored through trust leadership, an independent school improvement adviser and a DfE-commissioned education expert.
