Position: SEND Teaching Assistant Location: London – Wandsworth Hours: Full-time, Monday-Friday, 08:00?–?15:30 Salary: Paid to scale (according to experience and qualifications) Role Overview We are seeking a dedicated SEND (Special Educational Needs & Disabilities) Teaching Assistant to support our inclusive classroom environment in Wandsworth. Working closely with the classroom teacher, you will help deliver differentiated instruction, promote independence, and foster a positive learning experience for pupils with a range of SEND profiles. Key Responsibilities • Provide one-to-one and small-group support to students with SEND, implementing individualized strategies and accommodations. • Assist the teacher in preparing and adapting teaching materials, resources, and equipment. • Monitor student progress, record observations, and communicate insights to the teacher and support team. • Encourage social interaction, emotional regulation, and life-skills development. • Uphold safeguarding policies, health & safety procedures, and maintain a respectful, inclusive classroom atmosphere. • Participate in team meetings, CPD sessions, and contribute to the development of individual education plans (IEPs). Essential Qualifications & Experience • GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Mathematics. • Relevant SEND or teaching assistant qualification (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3, NVQ). • Experience supporting children with SEND in a school setting is preferred. • Strong communication, empathy, and organisational skills. • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
