Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant
Role Overview
Axcis are seeking dedicated special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) teaching assistants to join our inclusive team in Birmingham, with the view of starting immediately and throughout the next academic year from September. The successful candidates will provide high-quality, personalised support to pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), working closely with class teachers to promote academic progress, independence and wellbeing. Within this role, you will be paid £14.25 an hour.

The schools believe that education is a collaborative process and all staff, family and children need to be effectively working together to provide a well-balanced education for all students.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering differentiated lessons for pupils with SEND
• Provide one-to-one or small-group support, implementing individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour strategies
• Monitor and record pupil progress, communicating observations to teachers and parents
• Foster a safe, respectful and stimulating classroom environment
• Contribute to team meetings, safeguarding duties and professional development activities
Required Qualifications & Experience
• Previous experience working with young people
• Knowledge and experience of working with children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
• Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service
• Availability to work 8:30am – 4:00pm, term-time only
