SEND Teaching Assistant
Weymouth
Do you want a role where your patience, care and energy truly change lives?
Are you looking to be part of a team that sees potential first and barriers second?
Axcis Education is proud to be working in partnership with a purpose-built specialist school in Weymouth, supporting children and young people aged 2–19 with a wide range of learning difficulties. Pupils are supported with needs including autism, physical and sensory disabilities, and complex medical needs, all within a warm, inclusive and highly supportive environment.
This is more than a job — it’s an opportunity to help young people grow in confidence, independence and self-belief, while being part of a dedicated, multi-disciplinary team that genuinely cares.
Every day will be different, but your focus will always be the same: helping pupils feel safe, supported and ready to learn.
You will:
• Support pupils to access learning in ways that work best for them
• Create meaningful, personalised learning experiences that celebrate individuality
• Encourage emotional, social and physical development through positive, nurturing support
• Build trusting relationships that help pupils feel confident to try new things
• Support daily routines and help keep the classroom calm, structured and engaging
• Celebrate progress — big and small — recognising that every achievement matters
• Work closely with teachers, therapists and support staff to deliver holistic care
• Provide hands-on support with dignity, patience and compassion (full training provided)
• Bring enthusiasm and creativity into the classroom through play, sensory and interactive learning
This role would suit someone who:
• Has experience supporting children or young people with SEND, ASC or complex needs
• Is calm, empathetic and patient, especially in challenging moments
• Communicates confidently and works well as part of a team
• Is adaptable, proactive and motivated by making a real difference
Why work with Axcis Education?
• Access to specialist SEND training and ongoing CPD
• Supportive partnerships with schools offering consistent work
• A chance to make a meaningful, long-term impact on young lives
• A rewarding role where no two days are ever the same
Pay & working hours
