About the Role
Axcis Education is recruiting an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming Further Education College in Edgware (HA8). This is a full-time, ASAP-start role supporting students aged 16–25 with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD).
You will play a vital part in helping students access learning, build independence, and thrive in a nurturing and highly specialised environment. We’re looking for someone energetic, intuitive, and confident providing personal care.
Key Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 and small-group support for learners with PMLD
Assist with sensory-based and communication-focused learning activities
Support physiotherapy and mobility routines under guidance
Carry out personal care, including feeding, toileting, and hygiene support
Help maintain a calm, safe, and positive learning environment
Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and multi-disciplinary staff
Encourage independence and celebrate student progress, no matter how small
About You
Previous experience supporting learners with PMLD, severe or complex needs
Positive, proactive, and compassionate approach
Confident and experienced delivering personal care
Able to use initiative and respond intuitively to student needs
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply through Axcis)
