SEND Teaching Assistants – Oldham

Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? We are currently recruiting dedicated and empathetic Teaching Assistants to work across a range of welcoming primary and secondary schools in Oldham.
You will work closely with class teachers and school SENCOs to provide tailored support that enables every child to thrive academically, emotionally, and socially.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with SEND, including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, speech & language and learning difficulties.
• Assist in adapting learning materials based on individual needs.
• Promote independence and positive learning behaviours in the classroom.
• Support with personal care where required.
• Build effective relationships with students, staff, and parents/carers.
• Contribute to a safe, inclusive and nurturing school environment.
About You
• Experience supporting children or young people with additional needs (school-based or transferable experience considered).
• A calm, patient and proactive approach.
• Strong communication skills and a genuine passion for SEN support.
• Ability to use initiative and follow guidance from teaching staff.
