Hours: Full-time, 8:30 am to 4:00 pm, Monday to Friday
We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic SEND Teaching Assistant to join our inclusive educational team in the heart of Wandsworth, London. As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational needs of students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. This position requires a compassionate individual with a strong commitment to enhancing the learning experiences of children facing various challenges.
Responsibilities:
• Assist in the delivery of personalized education plans for SEND students, working closely with teachers and other support staff.
• Support students with their educational, physical, emotional, and social development, and promote their independence.
• Implement effective behaviour management strategies and maintain a positive learning environment.
• Adapt resources and activities to ensure all students can access learning and achieve their potential.
• Facilitate small group sessions and one-to-one support as required.
• Communicate effectively with parents, teachers, and other professionals regarding student progress and wellbeing.
• Maintain accurate records of student development and contribute to review meetings.
Qualifications:
• Experience working with SEND students in an educational setting is essential.
• NVQ Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent is highly desirable.
• Understanding of various SEND requirements and learning strategies to support these needs.
• Strong interpersonal skills, patience, and resilience.
• A collaborative team player with a can-do attitude.
• A commitment to ongoing professional development.
