The Role As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will: • Work closely with teachers and the inclusion team to deliver individualised support for pupils with SEMH needs. • Implement personalised learning and behaviour plans underpinned by trauma-informed practice. • Build strong, trusting relationships that foster emotional security and self-regulation. • Support pupils both in class and through targeted interventions, helping them develop resilience, communication skills and self-belief. • Model calmness, empathy and consistency, particularly during moments of emotional or behavioural challenge. • Collaborate effectively with colleagues, families and external professionals to provide holistic support. About You We’re looking for someone who: • Has prior experience supporting children with SEMH or trauma-related needs, ideally within a primary school environment. • Understands trauma-informed and attachment-aware approaches, or is enthusiastic about developing this expertise further. • Possesses strong interpersonal, communication and de-escalation skills. • Is emotionally intelligent, reflective, and able to remain calm under pressure. • Brings energy, patience and positivity to every situation.
