Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:45 AM – 3:45 PM
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
About the Role
Axcis Education is working with a dedicated Primary Special Needs School in Greenford, Ealing, to recruit a compassionate and experienced Teaching Assistant for a full-time, long-term role starting in September 2025.
This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and complex needs, working closely with a multidisciplinary team to implement personalised learning plans and foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities
-Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with Autism and Asperger’s Syndrome
-Use communication strategies such as PECS and Makaton to support learning
-Assist pupils with personal care, where required
-Support the implementation of individualised education plans (IEPs)
-Promote a structured, engaging, and supportive learning atmosphere
-Record and report on pupil progress and contribute to planning and review meetings
Requirements
-Previous experience supporting children with Autism or a background in EYFS
-Confidence using PECS and familiarity with Makaton
-Willingness to support with personal care tasks
-Patient, empathetic, and proactive attitude
-Full-time availability (Monday to Friday) from September 2025
-Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
