Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant - Stockport
Not every SEND role is the same. This is an opportunity to become part of a specialist Resource Provision within a mainstream primary school where children are supported to thrive in a nurturing, structured, and highly inclusive environment. Axcis Education is seeking a confident and experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to join the team as soon as possible. This is a long-term position that will run for the remainder of this academic year and continue into the next school year, offering valuable consistency for both staff and pupils. The provision supports children aged 3–11 with a variety of additional needs. No two days are the same, and the successful candidate will be someone who enjoys building meaningful relationships, celebrating small successes, and helping children develop both academically and socially. We're looking for someone who: - Has previous experience supporting children with SEND - Brings a calm, positive and encouraging approach to the classroom - Is dependable and committed to being a consistent presence for pupils - Can adapt to the varying needs of children across the provision - Works well alongside teachers, therapists and support staff In this role, you will support pupils with a range of special educational needs and disabilities throughout the school day, helping them to access learning, build confidence, and work towards their individual goals. You will assist with tailored learning activities, encourage communication and independence, and contribute to a positive, inclusive environment where every child is supported to thrive both academically and personally. Start Date: ASAP Contract: Long-term, with continuation into the new academic year Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm Working Pattern: Term time only Location: Stockport The school is well positioned for candidates travelling from surrounding areas, with regular bus routes nearby and straightforward access by car.
