SEND Teaching Assistant (Autism Support)
Location: Wandsworth (SW18)
Salary: Starting at £89 per day (PAYE)
Hours: Full-time, 8:45 AM to 4:30 PM
About the Role:
We are seeking dependable and experienced SEND Teaching Assistants to support students with Autism in a specialist primary setting in Wandsworth. The school itself, has class sizes of up to 12 students varying from ages 5-11, however there will be other teaching assistants too, and the class lead within.
You will work 1:1 or in small groups, assisting students with Autism in a safe, specialised and engaging environment.
Key Responsibilities as a SEND Teaching Assistant:
• Provide one-to-one or group support to students with Autism primarily, however there may be other additional needs such as ADHD, Challenging Behaviour etc.
• Support students with challenging behaviours.
• Collaborate with staff to meet students’ learning and care needs.
• Personal care will be required
Skills and Experience required to work with us as a SEND Teaching Assistant:
• Referenced experience supporting students with Autism and other needs.
• Strong communication
• Proactive and adaptable.
• Patient, empathetic, and flexible.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• DBS on the Update Service
• Right To work
