Location: Southall, Ealing Role: Full-Time SEND Teacher Axcis are currently working with a welcoming primary school in Southall, Ealing, who are looking for an experienced and passionate SEND Teacher to lead their Inclusion Base. This is an exciting opportunity for a teacher with a strong understanding of SEND who is confident supporting pupils with complex needs and creating an inclusive, nurturing learning environment. The successful candidate will primarily work within the Inclusion Base, supporting up to six pupils, while also having the flexibility to provide cover across the wider school, from EYFS through to Year 6, particularly during afternoons and on a semi-regular basis. The Role As the SEND Teacher, you will be responsible for: Leading and teaching within the Inclusion Base, supporting up to six pupils. Adapting existing lesson planning and resources to meet individual needs. Creating weekly timetables and planning provision based on EHCPs, Occupational Therapy (OT) and Speech and Language Therapy (SaLT) programmes. Monitoring pupil progress and carrying out regular assessment. Managing and supporting a team of three Teaching Assistants. Liaising closely with Year 1 teachers and other members of the school team. Providing flexible cover across the school from EYFS to Year 6 when required. Attending CPD opportunities and contributing to ongoing professional development. Making effective use of dedicated PPA time for planning, assessment and preparation. The Pupils The Inclusion Base supports pupils with a range of complex SEND needs, including: Pre-verbal communication needs – three pupils. Intimate and personal care needs, which will be carried out by the Teaching Assistants. Sensory-seeking behaviours, including mouthing objects, spitting and self-biting. Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA) alongside language and communication needs – three pupils. SEMH needs, particularly when pupils become dysregulated – three pupils. The successful teacher will need to be calm, patient, adaptable and confident when supporting pupils with complex and sometimes challenging needs. Building positive relationships and understanding each pupil's individual communication, sensory and behavioural needs will be essential. About You The school is particularly interested in hearing from teachers who have: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). Strong experience working with pupils with SEND and complex needs. Experience within a Special School, ARP (Additionally Resourced Provision) or specialist SEND setting – highly preferred. A good understanding of EHCPs and how to translate identified needs into effective classroom provision. Experience working alongside or implementing OT and SaLT programmes. Strong behaviour and regulation management skills. The ability to lead and motivate a team of Teaching Assistants. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. A nurturing, flexible and child-centred approach.
