Job Title: SEND Teacher
Start Date: 5 January
Contract: Full-time
Location: Specialist School for Children with a Range of SEND Needs
QTS: Desirable but not essential
Are you a compassionate, creative and resilient educator looking to make a genuine difference in the lives of children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities? We are seeking an enthusiastic SEND Teacher to join our dedicated team and lead a Key Stage 2 class from January.
About the Role
You will be working with a small class of KS2 pupils with a range of learning needs, including Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD) and Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD). Many of the children experience challenges with sequencing, thinking and problem-solving, working memory, concentration and attention. Your role will be to plan and deliver engaging, personalised learning experiences that help each child make meaningful progress.
Key Responsibilities
• Create and deliver tailored learning opportunities that meet the diverse needs of pupils with SLD and MLD.
• Use a range of strategies to support pupils with difficulties in sequencing, working memory, concentration and problem-solving.
• Foster a positive, nurturing and structured classroom environment.
• Work closely with support staff, therapists and the wider SEND team to ensure individual needs are met.
• Track and assess pupil progress using appropriate SEND frameworks.
• Communicate regularly and effectively with parents and carers.
About You
• QTS is desirable but not essential—what matters most is your passion, adaptability and commitment to inclusive education.
• Experience working with children with SEND, particularly in a specialist or small-group setting.
• Strong understanding of strategies to support learning and engagement for pupils with cognitive and processing difficulties.
• Patience, creativity and the ability to build strong, trusting relationships with pupils.
• A team-focused approach and willingness to learn from others.
What We Offer
• A warm, welcoming school with a highly supportive staff team.
• Small class sizes and excellent TA support.
• Ongoing CPD opportunities tailored to SEND practice.
• A meaningful and rewarding role where you can truly make an impact.
If you are committed to helping children overcome barriers and achieve their potential, we would love to hear from you.
