Job Title: SEND Teacher/Tutor
Axcis Education are looking for a SEND Teacher/Tutor - to work on outreach - with pupils aged 11-19 of all abilities, within a range of educational programmes across an alternative SEND school in Torbay. This is a full time, permanent position suitable for SEND teacher, teachers who are looking to transfer into SEND education, or experienced unqualified SEND practitioners. The hours are 9.00-4.30 and the rate of pay ranges from £26,000-£36,300, depending on qualifications, training and experience. The school implement the thrive approach to support the emotional and social development of all pupils and have licensed practitioners at the school. Pupils are carefully assessed allow the college to understand their readiness and ability to engage in learning. A personalised learning programme is formed from the assessment and emotional development is carefully tracked each term. Depending on their age, pupils engage with a broad curriculum, or work towards obtaining GCSEs, functioning skills qualifications (level 1 and 2), or BTEC qualifications. The school are looking for a SEND Teacher/Tutor who meets the following requirements: • Fantastic relationship building techniques. • Good understanding of Numeracy and English. • Previous SEND experience with children and/or adults. • Effective strategies to support dysregulated pupils • Safeguarding Level 2, or equivalent, understanding.
